Ladakh
Ladakh become a union territory on 31 October 2019, after the reorganisation act passed by the Parliament of India in August 2019. Now Ladakh is a union territory and a separate part from the Jammu & Kashmir. The Ladakh union territory of northern India’s capital are Leh and Kargil.

Geography

Road Approach / Connectivity To Ladakh
Leh is a main town and largest district of Ladakh region among 2 districts as Leh and Kargil. There two roads, which connect to Ladakh from Zoji-La Pass and Kargil route from Srinagar side of the Kashmir Valley. This routs is open from April/May to till November/December. It remain blocked by snow in winter at Zoji-La Pass.
The other route is, high altitude (3,900 Meters Rohtang Pass) Manali-Leh Highway from Himachal Pradesh side. This route is open only from May to till November. The best part of this route that there is Rohtang pass tunnel 8.8 Km long, has been opened for public from 2020.
Train Station
The nearest railhead is Udhampur in Jammu & Kashmir state, connected with all major cities and towns of India.
Airport
Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport at Leh city has flights from Delhi year-around on Jet Airways, Vistara, GoAir, and Air India. Air India also operates weekly flights to Jammu and Srinagar.
